Rebel Rider

On her field trip today, Caroline got to ride a horse named "Rebel" by herself! There were two "spotters" and someone to lead the horse, but I didn't have to ride with her. All the kids really enjoyed it. Today's activities, including horse and covered wagon rides, a petting zoo and other games, were put on by a group called "Horses for Handicapped." Their volunteers did a great job.

Big Jake

This weekend I had the pleasure of taking senior portraits of Jake, a laid back guy who was a great sport about having tons of pictures taken (despite the wind). I hope he doesn't mind the John Wayne reference to "Big Jake." I guess years of being inundated with John Wayne and his movies is starting to rub off on me. I must admit taking pictures of "big" people does make me a little more nervous than the preschoolers I usually deal with, but I had a great time. I hope we made his mama proud!

Sister Act

I remember wishing as a child that I could have a little sister...someone to share life with. I was fortunate to have so many wonderful cousins, who in many ways were like sisters. And, I can honestly say, throughout every season of my life, the Lord has blessed me with great friends. In college, I finally found my first "real" sisters, so to speak -- the kind to whom you are forever connected. Then, when I got married, I was lucky enough to receive an "official" sister-in-law, who I could not love any more than if we had always been related. Now, I'm the proud mother of two sweet sisters, and I enjoy watching their relationship grow and strengthen. I guess that's one reason why I loved taking pictures of these two beautiful sisters. Annsley and Ashlynn are quite a pair! I'm glad they have each other's hand to hold as they go through life. What a difference that can make!
